Q and A

Q: How do I score my tricks?

A: First film your trick (that is key). Then look at the mind worping points Martix below. Find the tricks on the list and then add the points together. An example above from D Dawg! The trick he is doing is a Board-slide to Switch 50/50 to front side Board-slide.

So the point will score like this

30 points for the "Board-slide"

40 points for "Switch"

20 points for the "50/50"

40 points for the "Frontside Board-slide"

and 10 BONUS points for the feature "Battle Ship"

so the total points are; 140 points

Following the success of Transitions Extremes “Queen O‘the Deen” we are inviting Aberdeen locals, Yolkals and Vocals to show us your snowboarding skills and see who rules the Garthdee Hills!Each Clan (or team) has to make a wee video and get points for the trix they do. The score sheet is below. The Clan with the most points wins!

RULES

You must have a minimum of three people in your clan. Your Clan can consist of other clan members but no one person is allowed to be in more than three videos. The video must be no longer than 5 minutes and no shorter than 3 minutes. It must show how many points your team got and where so the judges can verify. The video must be uploaded on to Vimeo.com, youtube.com or mpora.com before the closing date. The points scored must be in regulation with the points matrix. Failure to comply with the matrix will lead to your demise. You can only count one trick once so if you do a Rodeo Melon from three different angles it only counts as one trick. But if you do a Rodeo Tail, Rodeo Indy and then a Rodeo Melon that is three different tricks. If you do a whole videos of different verities of Rodeos with grabs and spins, that would be impressive and we would all think "wow isn't he/she really good and how little the rest of use are" but we would all get bored of your lack of creativity and probably shun you in social situations. Try and add filler footage as it gets stale watching loads of the same stuff. The last word goes to the audience who will be watching at the final at the prize giving so if they think you didn’t grab that trick… shut up!!

All entries to be submitted by the 10th December!! With all videos to be shown at the shack at Aberdeen Snowsports Centre on the 16th December So GET ON IT YOU GOATS!!!

Trick Matrix; Bonus Points

Bonus Points:

• Two riders at once on the same feature.
• Choreographed sequence of tricks.
• Butter the whole slope.
• Riding on snow.
• Street Spot.

All the above get a one off 200 points (the street spot, riding on snow and choreographed sequence you can add points from trick).

Quarter pipe:

Points added and deducted as bellow, so spin on quarter add 10, flip on quarter subtract 20.

add points to matching feature above. So if you do a 50/50 (or any other trick from the grinds section) on any of the above features then add the points below to it.

• Shot Gun Rail + Board slide = 40 points
• Battle Ship+ Switch + Board slide + 270 = 340 points
• Battle Ship + Switch + 270 + Front side nose + Front side board slide + 180 + Board slide (10+40+270+40+40+180+30) = 610 points

Spins:
Point for every degrees starting from 180 points(backside or front side).

• Backside 360 = 360 points
• 540 = 540 points
• 720 = 720 points
• 900 = 900 points
• 1080 =1080 points

Switch:

add 40 points to any trick done switch (backside or front side).

• Switch Straight Air =40 points
• Switch = 40 points
• Switch + Tail = 60 points
• Switch + 360 = 400 points
• Switch + 360 + Tail = 420 points

Flips:

• Mc Twist 400 points
• Back Flip 400 points
• Front Flip 400 points
• Rodeo 700 points
• Toe Rodeo 700 points
• Misty 700 points

add points for other trick with the flip (e.g switch, grabs) unless it is a spin then half points of spin starting from 540. So if it is a McTwist 540 then you will get the points for the McTwist and then 270 points for the 540. Like wise if it is a McTwist 720 then you will get points for the McTwist and only 360 points for the 720.

• McTwist = 400 points
• McTwist + Tail = 420 points
• McTwist + Switch =440 points
• McTwist + 540 = 670 points
• McTwist + 540+ Tail = 690 points
• McTwist + 540+ Tail+ Switch = 730 points
